Rural educational, cultural and ethnographic tourist attraction
The Rural Educational, Cultural and Ethnographic Tourist Attraction project is an integrated development project based on the restoration of cultural heritage, which aims to create a cultural and tourist destination that includes individual rural and remote areas of the Dubrovnik-Neretva County linked into a unique tourism product.
These are locations in the City of Korcula, the Municipality of Smokvica, the Municipality of the Dubrovnik Littoral and the Municipality of Mljet.
The developer of the project is Dubrovnik-Neretva County, which plans to implement it in cooperation with 11 partners, namely: DUNEA, City of Korčula, KORA, Municipality of Smokvica, Municipality of Dubrovnik Littoral, Municipality of Mljet, Croatian Conservation Institute, University of Dubrovnik, Tourist Board of Dubrovnik-Neretva County, Craft Restoration of furniture Depolo and Dominium travel.

The renovation includes the Korcula City Museum, the Dubrovnik Littoral Native House, the Gold and Silver Smokvice Museum and the Babin Field themed trails and the Austrian Road. The program aims to offer tourists the opportunity to learn about the tradition and history of the destination they visit during their stay, and by integrating additional facilities at multiple geographically close and connected points, enable longer retention of visitors and greater consumption within a common destination or project area.

The redevelopment of five localities creates new tourism products and services integrated into a common and unique product “Roads of the Past”, with an emphasis on incorporating the sustainable use of cultural heritage, where joint promotion will bring added value.
